Ross wasn't sure why but he was no longer in the Rift. He had been back for about a month now. The change was rough on him. Without the energies of the Rift to fuel him he had grown weaker and the other part that took getting used to for him was being young again. He had survived the real world up to this point based on what he had come to call guided thoughts. He couldn't predict the future but there were times he just knew he needed to be somewhere or do something. That is how he ended up with his living space he had now. He rented out a room from an older couple who in the end agreed to let him pay rent by fixing up their house as well as some of the property they owned.
Having a normal job felt funny after fighting the demons for so long. There was a simplicity about it that was both nice and maddening. He used his free time, which he had lots of thanks to only having to sleep once a week, to practice his powers. They were not as mighty as they once were but he still had them. The trick was getting used to how they felt outside of the Rift. He even still had his Armor, the emerald still embedded into his right palm. Funny thing was no one ever seemed to notice it, or him for that matter.
In the last week Ross's thoughts had changed. He felt drawn to a certain grocery store and had thoughts of an old friend come to mind. He had waited outside the grocery store his thoughts had shown him, and sure enough found the old friend, the Army of One. Ross smiled as he watch the man named Brandon swagger out of the store like he owned it. The walk was really nothing new though. Ross watched as Brandon crossed the parking lot to his car and was a little surprised to see Brandon notice him. Brandon only noticed Ross for a moment but Ross still took that as a good sign. “Maybe he remembers me,” Ross thought out loud.
Ross kept showing up at the store, though at different times, always just in time to catch Brandon leaving. Ross had a feeling that he needed to do something else to bring Brandon back to what he was but couldn't think of how to do it. He looked at the timepiece he had acquired since coming back to the real world. He found himself staring at the watch a lot when he wanted to gather his thoughts as well as take a moment to remind himself that time mattered again. When he looked up again he saw that Brandon was walking towards him. Ross had a flood of things to say come to mind. He wanted to ask him if he remembered the Rift, Demons or even just him. His mind raced through all the thoughts of the Rift all the while unconsciously looking between the watch and Brandon. He tried to think of what to say only to keep coming to the conclusion that he didn't know were to start. None of this showed on his face, however, it only showed a calm he had learned from battle.
Brandon spoke first and last as Ross still couldn't think of what a good non-crazy start would be. Ross was about to speak as Brandon turned to leave but was cut off by the “ooop” noise that Brandon made as he tripped. Without a second thought Ross reached out and caught his friend. The moment he touched him though he could tell something about each of them changed. Brandon just seemed stunned while at the same time Ross felt something in his mind unlock. The moment of Brandon's awakening passed.
With a simple word from Brandon they parted ways. Ross needed time to think on the knowledge and memories growing within him. He did know that Brandon would be joining him for the battles to come, as well as others that had been Rift Walkers.
Many memories of the Rift came back to Ross, not just ones of Brandon. He spent that night sorting through and reliving some of his lost memories. One particular memory of him and Brandon did stand out though.
“So you want me to kill your copies?” Ross said with a hint of surprise to Brandon. The two of them were standing in the middle of a street lined with older four-story apartments.
“I want you to try.” Brandon replied with a smirk. “But I'm just saying that if some of me dies it's alright. I got something new I need to work on anyway.”
“Ok, so you wanted a big monster to fight then; how big are you talking here?” Ross said eyeing their chosen training ground.
“Let's go for something classic; how does fifty feet tall sound?” Brandon rubbed his chin as he thought about the number. “Yeah, fifty sounds good,” He quickly answered himself.
“Alright, sounds good man, just give me one moment to make myself more monstrous. Wouldn't want ya stuck fighting just a big human.” With that, Ross started his growth. First he made himself huge, followed by distorting his body. He made his arms bigger till he was resting his knuckles on the ground with huge forearms while at the same time shrinking his legs a bit so that he was hunched over like a gorilla. He made his head grow out of proportion so that he had huge jaws and teeth. He moved his new form around until he was satisfied with his ability to move. He looked down at the little Brandon with a smile.
“Well look how big he went.” Brandon said up to Ross with a grin. “Allow me ready for...” Brandon's sentence was cut off as Ross brought a giant fist down on him. The hit left Brandon a smear on the now broken pavement. There was a silence before a voice rang out from a near by rooftop.
“Dude, you could have killed me!” Brandon said with a hearty wave.
“You think I didn't notice.” Ross's deep voice boomed as he threw his arm into the building Brandon was on.
“No, I just think you didn't notice all of me.” In an instant Brandons rained down from the apartment rooftops. Ross brought his fist up through building it was in, sending chucks of debris flying around the area and knocking some of the Brandons out of the air. The rest of the horde landed on the gigantic Ross, trying to slow him down. Ross took a step back try to get away from the torrent of Brandons, only to be tripped by a wire like gathering of Brandons below. Ross fell into the apartments behind him crashing through much of the structure before he came to rest. It took him a moment to gather his bearings, and in that time Brandons began using their bodies like rope to hold him down. Ross struggled against the Brandons amassing on him only to find that their joint strength was too much for him.
One of the Brandons stood atop Ross's forehead carrying a smug look upon his face. “Looks like I win this one.”
Ross said nothing in response instead he let out a roar that seemed to cause the very earth around them to rumble. He then forced his muscles to grow until he could feel himself over powering the Brandons. With one big pull he brought his arms together, squashing the Brandons that were previously holding him down. He then swung his arms the other way, forcing himself to his feet as well as smashing a few more Brandons. As soon as he was to his feet, Ross began throwing cars and large chunks of debris at the Brandons.
The fight had soon moved from its starting grounds. Ross continued to shrug off attempts to grapple him while the host of Brandons were trying to get close enough to pin the rampaging beast.
Once Ross had whittled Brandon's numbers down to a handful he stopped to face the group. He paused to look at his surroundings. He had destroyed most of the residential area they had started in and was part way into the commercial area that was near by. Ross looked down at the few brandons that remained and waited for them to make a move. Soon one relaxed and the other seemed to fade into him.
“Ok big guy, let us call this training good. I'm plenty warn out and you look to be about the same.” Brandon took a few steps towards Ross.
“Yeah, sounds like a plan.” Ross said with a nod and returned himself to his normal size. “I must admit training with you tends to be the only training I come away from covered in blood.”
“It's just there to keep the experience more real for ya.” Brandon replied in an amused tone. Ross noticed that Brandon seemed to have recovered much of his energy already.
“Well I don't know about you, but I'm gunna need some food after all that. Maybe something that Adena enhanced so I don't eat through all the food back at the mall.” The two walked back towards the mall, their base of operation, while debating who had won that time around.

The idea for your character in this role-play would be that they are you as you are now. Your character would have a past as a Rift Walker. A person who fought demons in the Rift with the super powers they gained from being there. The Rift is a plane of existence were the spirit world and the real world overlap. At one point or another your character was sent back to the real world in such a way that they woke up like the Rift never happened to them. The idea for the start of this RP is that my character will bring your characters memories of the Rift back by touching them. So because of that your first post will be of mine awakening your character to their past in the Rift. Also, not all of your memories will come back at once. If you need help making sense of this mess of information you can ask me or my co-gm Fabricated_Symbolism. Also all site rules apply.
